• This questionnaire forms part of the Home Office consultation on the future of the Undercover Policing Inquiry (UCPI). The Future of the Undercover Policing Inquiry page contains links for more information about this consultation.
  • This consultation invites views to inform ministerial decisions on the most appropriate, proportionate and effective way forward for addressing the Inquiry’s remaining work beyond Tranches 1 to 3 which Sir John Mitting will conclude with an Interim Report prior to his retirement.
  • This consultation is not a re-opening of evidence, nor a call for new factual material about undercover policing or individual cases.

This questionnaire will close at 23:59 on 20 August 2026.

If we receive a request for disclosure of information we will take full account of your explanation, but we cannot provide assurance that confidentiality can be maintained in all circumstances. An automatic confidentiality disclaimer generated by your IT system will not, of itself, be regarded as binding on the Home Office.
