What is being asked of you?
You have been asked to take part in a questionnaire carried out by Home Office Digital Data and Technology on behalf of Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS).
In completing this questionnaire, you will be invited to join a panel that will be selected to take part in research for the Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS) project. This is an opportunity to provide feedback on the FIRS service. This allows us to continually improve our online services.
The Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS) is a two-tier scheme which strengthens the resilience of the UK political system against covert foreign influence and provides greater assurance around the activities of certain foreign powers or entities that are a national security risk. FIRS will require the registration of arrangements to carry out political influence activities in the UK at the direction of a foreign power.
What’s involved?
You will be asked questions (mostly multiple choice) about your occupation, registration type, access needs, or disabilities, and any assistive technology you may use.
This will help us to learn a little more about you and assist us in arranging interview sessions, ensuring we are speaking to a diverse range of people. It will also help us to ensure that the research will be relevant to you.
The questionnaire will take about 10 minutes to complete.
What data will be collected and how will it be stored?
Your responses will be collected by a secure survey platform and then transferred to Home Office systems. Any personal data we collect such as your name and contact details will not be shared outside of the FIRS research team. All personal data is held on a secure Home Office server and will be deleted after 24 months in line with GDPR.
Your right to withdraw or complain
Your participation in this questionnaire is voluntary and you can withdraw at any time. You can stop completing this questionnaire at any point. You can arrange for your data to be deleted after you have completed the questionnaire by emailing us at: ucdops@homeoffice.gov.uk
