Regulation 7(5(a) of ‘The Police (Retention and Disposal of Motor Vehicles) (Amendment) Regulations 2005’ states Disposal of motor vehicles specifies that the authority may not dispose of the vehicle during the period of 14 days starting with the date on which the vehicle was seized.
1. To what extent do you agree or disagree that we should reduce the timeframe that the police or other authority must retain a seized vehicle before disposal from 14 days to 48 hours for those vehicles seized under section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002?
